CASA LEOPOLDO
The iconic temple to gastronomy, Casa Leopoldo, which captured the hearts of artists and writers for decades, is reopening its doors and regaining its original essence thanks to the Banco de Boquerones restaurant group. The restaurant in the Raval neighbourhood is one of Barcelona’s historic gems and is being reborn to revive its passion for tradition, culture and food.
Casa Leopoldo remains committed to authentic flavours and serves traditional Catalan dishes made with the finest quality ingredients sourced from the local market. This means that delicious traditional specialities, like stewed bull’s tail and rich man’s paella, have been joined by others, including sautéed baby squid with teardrop peas from the Maresme or the pig’s trotter timbale with foie gras, fennel and green apple, all of them accompanied by a hand-picked selection of wines and cavas. In addition to its outstanding culinary offering, Casa Leopoldo also has private dining areas for groups named after the famous Catalan novelist Manuel Vázquez Montalbán, who was a regular at the restaurant, and the granddaughter of its founder, Rosa Gil.
Open from 12 noon to midnight, with a counter serving canapés and cold snacks from 4pm to 8pm, so you can linger at your table after lunch.
