  DART Festival

  The seventh art deals with the other six in this festival of cinema and art in Spain and Latin America. All disciplines have a place in the DART Festival: photography, art curatorship, painting, performance, architecture, art movements and, in general, any aspect of contemporary art, with a special focus on the artists, their creative processes and the stories behind their work. The different films are diverse in their approaches, but all of them cover some aspect from the emergence of the avant-garde at the beginning of the 20th century, up to the present day. In addition, the festival includes informational activities, talks, visits to art galleries, exhibitions and debates. It can also be followed in cinemas throughout Spain and online through the FILMIN platform.

  The hidden side of Palau Güell

  Beyond the standard tour of this stunning modernist complex by Antoni Gaudí, the exhibition "The hidden side of Palau Güell" allows visitors to discover hidden corners and details that are not accessible to the public. This exhibition of original photographs by Ramon Manent, who specializes in art and architecture, is included in the price of the entrance ticket to the building.

  FotoFest Poblenou 2024

  FotoFest, Poblenou's photography festival, celebrates its second edition from November 8 to 30. Fifteen simultaneous exhibitions by renowned artists will fill with art ten emblematic buildings in this historic neighborhood of Barcelona. The festival will also host numerous complementary activities such as theoretical and practical workshops, talks or a photographic rally for all those who wish to participate.

  Inside Berlanga Caixaforum Barcelona

  Thanks to the cataloging and digitization of Berlanga's private archive, this unprecedented exhibition offers an intimate and untold look into the life of Luis García Berlanga (1921-2010). Organized by Caixaforum, the exhibition takes visitors on a journey through the filmmaker's life, his work and his international influence. Visitors can discover his unique perspective on the history of Spain as well as very personal aspects such as his fears, traveling through the different facets of his life.

  Serge Attukwei Clottey Beyond the skin Fundació Tàpies

  Ghanaian artist Serge Attukwei Clottey has been invited to transform the Modernista façade of the Tàpies Foundation, designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner. Clottey repurposes waste materials, using them as a second skin. Objects such as yellow containers, car tires or cork are transformed into fragments that reflect his concerns about the culture and identity of the city where he was born and lives, and from which he draws the raw material for his creations.

  Antoni Tàpies The Practice of Art

  The Antoni Tàpies Foundation culminates the year dedicated to this great master with a retrospective exhibition that chronologically spans his entire body of work, from his earliest drawings to the pieces of his final years. Drawing on a wide selection of works from national and international museums and private collections, the exhibition connects Antoni Tàpies' creations over time, allowing visitors to discover and delve deeply into Tàpies' formal and artistic concerns throughout his life and career.

  Consuelo Kanaga Capturing the spirit Centre de fotografia KBr Fundació MAPFRE

  Consuelo Kanaga was one of the pioneering women in the field of photography and managed to practice photojournalism professionally in the 1910s. Consuelo Kanaga (United States 1894-1978) also maintained a close relationship with the American avant-garde circles Group f/64 in San Francisco and the Photo League in New York. Even so, at the time, her status as a woman limited her from devoting herself full-time to photography. Now Centre de fotografia KBr Fundació MAPFRE is organizing an exhibition of her work based on the Brooklyn Museum's collection, with special emphasis on her work representing the African-American world and giving visibility to the "New Black Movement", a cultural movement led by black men and women. Through her work, Kanaga joined in reclaiming the African-American identity.

  Suzanne Valadon Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya

  Suzanne Valadon (1865-1938) was an emblematic figure of the Montmartre Bohemian scene in the early 20th century. As a painter, illustrator and engraver, Valadon practiced all genres, from portraits and nudes to still lifes and landscapes. Now the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya, in collaboration with the Centre Pompidou-Metz and the Musée d'Art de Nantes, offers the opportunity to discover this artist and explore the different interactions that took place in the avant-garde circles in which Suzanne Valadon played a significant role from 1910 to 1930.
