Tàpies Year

Antoni Tàpies was born in Barcelona and lived in the neighbourhood of Sant Gervasi. His passion for drawing and painting made him one of the most influential Catalan artists of the 20th century. Tàpies pursued his artistic career in Barcelona where he also opened his foundation, the Fundació Antoni Tàpies, with the aim of promoting modern and contemporary art in Catalonia.

From December 2023 until December 2024, the city will be commemorating the centenary of Antoni Tàpies' birth. We invite you to discover Tàpies' Barcelona and join in the activities being held in the city to mark this special anniversary.
